Doosan has launched a brand new 9 series of forklifts aimed at the European market, with the first batch of 9 models now available. The new 9 series currently includes 9 forklift models. The new machines, compliant with Stage V standards, have capacities ranging from 3.5 tons to 5.5 tons. They are equipped with G2 Doosan manufactured diesel engines, which are said to be easier to maintain. Access to the engine and service area has been improved, with side panels and the bottom plate able to be opened without any tools, and the engine cover can be opened to a 70˚ angle. Doosan states that safety is a significant consideration in the design of the 9 series. The new forklifts are equipped with an electronic parking brake that automatically engages when the operator leaves the cabin, and they also feature an operator presence system that prevents the machine from moving unexpectedly when the operator leaves the seat. These models also improve visibility, speed limiting, and LED lights, with the company stating that the LED lights are brighter than traditional sealed beams or halogen lights. Doosan claims that the total cost of ownership for its 9 series forklifts is 71% lower over 5 years compared to previous series. Other models in the series will be released later this year, with capacities ranging from 2 to 3 tons, followed by higher capacity models in 2021.
